Scenic Seattle

Here are some of my latest creations. I tired to upload them to my gallery at SCS but they wouldnt allow it..so I am going to post them here.
Recently I went to Seattle's famous Pike Place Market. There is an artists booth there and they sell these wonderful post cards. They are machine stamped so that they can be colored. When I saw these I just had to have them. I got several of them to play with and here are the first three that I did. I painted them with water colors. Some of them will be cards, one has been framed. I cant wait to go back and buy some more, they have many to choose from. The pics are of various scenes around Seattle. I hope you enjoy them!

A New day!

I am going to try to give this Blogging thing some serious attention. Besides you learn from your mistakes, right? I always have tons to gab about especially when it comes to Stamping my favorite thing to do. I am a member of Splitcoast Stampers and have made many wonderful long lasting friends there. Its such a great place for inspiration. I am truly amazed every day when I visit the galleries of the members there.
Now I am going to try to figure out how to post some pics here of my latest creations...wish me luck!

My first offical Blog!

Well, this is pretty exciting, my very first Blog. I decided to give this whole blogging thing a try after I finished my stamping project today that I was working on. I had been looking at other blog sites from Stampers, who had tutorials about making journals out of composition books. I decided it wold be a great way to make some new friends, share ideas, and even get some feedback on some of my projects. Stamping has been such a love of mine and will always be my first choice for favorite things to do.
A few years back, we lived in Seattle and I had got so into stamping, that I had my own little stamping studio/room. Over the years, my passion and my rubber stamp collection grew to well over a thousand stamps and all of the glorius goodies and gadgets we all use. I found stamping to be the perfect distraction to dealing with my disabilities which leave me in a chronic state of pain( really sucks!). When I am crafting, the pain just doesnt seem to be the focus. About three years ago, we were renting a home, and had a nasty fire. I lost everything in my stamping room!! Fortunatley, only part of the house was damaged, but the horrible part was losing my much loved stamping room and ALL that was in it. A little bit of advice for anyone renting, make sure to get renters insurance!! We didnt have it, like idiots, and so was unable to recover my loss.
For the next four to five years, I couldnt even think about stamping or any kind of crafting without just losing it. I avoided it like the plague. The thought of not only losing it all, but trying to start all over, with very limited funds, was just too much to endure. So I didnt do anything until just about ten months ago. Slowly, I started picking up a stamp or two, here and there. Got lucky at a couple garage sales, and even joined the bidding wars on good ol' Ebay. I am always trying to come up with ideas on how to generate some kind of cash flow, to start over in buying new craft items, namely Stamps!! lol! (Anyone have any good ideas they might want to share?)
So my goal is to get back to my little stampers paradise and get those ol' creative juices flowing! I would love to make some new friends here and see what others are doing. I have a lot of catchng up to do in the world of stamping: what's the latest trends, stamping styles, new goodies etc... But now, I have something to look forward to, that is something I love, and no offense boys, just hanging out with the Girls!
